There is something super unique about the sea snail abalone. Do you know what it is? They are almost impossible to culture! So, one of the only ways to have access to this beautiful color is through mother-of-pearl. Mother-of-pearl is the inside lining of a shell that gives birth to the pearl. It is truly the mother of the pearl!

Gorgeous curved pieces of carved abalone dangling on sterling silver ear hooks! Ever since we launched our abalone Color My World Necklace and Bracelet, we have simply fallen in love with the amazing colors of this mother of pearl shell. When our resident metal artist and Pearl Girl Sylvia Dawe came up with these new designs, I knew they were just perfect for our colorful collection!
